Collection: Tiger's Eye

The main source of Tiger's Eye is Griquatown West, in South Africa. It can also be found in Wittenoom Gorge, Western Australia.

Tiger's eye is formed when parallel veins of crocidolite ( blue abestos) fibres are first altered to iron oxides and then replaced by silica.

It is a member of the Trigonal crystal system.

Metaphysically, it was carried as a protective amulet against the forces of evil. It was said to ward off curses and to keep the wearer safe.
