Collection: Sodalite

Sodalite is found in the Ice River complex, near Golden British Columbia. Smaller deposits are found in Brazil, Bolivia, Portugal, Romania, Burma and Russia. Sodalite occurs in igneous rocks that crystalized from sodium-rich magmas. THese magmas contain so little silicon and aluminum that Quartz and Feldspar minerals are absent. Sodalite contains Pyrite.

It is a member of the Cubic crystal system. 

Metaphysically, Sodalite is said to bring order and calmness to the mind. It encourages rational thought, objectivity, trust and intuition, along with verbalization of feelings. Sodalite brings emotional balance and calms panic attacks. It enhances self-esteem, self-acceptance and self-trust.
