Collection: Smokey Quartz

Smoky Quartz is found all over the world. It is created in either igneous rock, or environments where there are geothermal waters. Quartz forms when magma cools. As Silicon dioxide cools, it crystalizes.  The slower is cools, the larger the crystal will grow!

It is a member of the Trigonal crystal system at room temperature, and the Hexagonal crystal system at extremely hot temperatures.

The smokey colour results from free silicon formed from the Silcon dioxide by natural irradiation.

Metaphysically, Smokey Quartz signifies stability and grounding.
