Bloodstone, also known as Heliotrope is an opaque cryptocrystalline quartz and a member of the Chalcedony family. Its deep green colour comes from tiny inclusions of Chlorite and Pyroxene, while the red is small concentrated areas of iron ixide minerals, most commonly known as Hematite.

Abundant deposits of Bloodstone have been found in India, China, Madagascar, Brazil, Australia and the United States.

It is a member of the Trigonal crystal system.

Metaphysically, Bloodstone is a stone of courage. It cultivates Wisdom, intuition, creativity, abundance and love. It was also used for protection against physic attack. It was used for blood cleansing and detoxifying. It boosts the immune system, helps relieve stress, anxietyy and good for trauma recovery.
